If you like to vacuum quickly the RD285 is the best floor nozzle for moving through the job fast. With no bristle to clog with hair and dirt you will never need to stop while cleaning your floor to unstuff your floor tool. The RD285 uses it's special design to focus airflow in a unique pattern to mimic the function of bristles in a regular floor nozzle.

A set of flexible sealing blades flank the intake which forces airflow to concentrate across the floors surface. Using airflow design to duplicate the function of bristles allows the RD285 to clean without a build-up of debris at the nozzle and prevent bull-dozing. The brushless design also makes the RD285 uniquely well suited to cleaning homes with indoor pets and their troublesome shed fur. The bristle free RD285 can gulp down mounds of fur without clogging.

The RD285's combination function uses the same cleaning dynamics to vacuum rugs with airflow velocity which quickly lifts soils from carpet fibers using the sealing blades to concentrate airflow on the surface. To vacuum clingy soils, including hair and fur, the RD285 employs two directional thread lifters. Each strip cleans in one direction and release the debris into the airflow in the other direction, self cleaning on each pass as you vacuum. The thread lifters allow you to scrub trouble spots on rugs that hold clingy soils. The large rear wheels ensure that you can push the nozzle on rugs easily and the tilting and swiveling nozzle connection allows you to steer, turn and drive the nozzle on all floor surfaces.

Just under the wide-body nozzle designation the RD285 measures 11.25" wide and 3.25" deep. It's amazing low profile is just 2" tall which allows the RD285 to easily clean around furniture and obstacles on the floor and under cabinets, tables and beds with ease. The RD285 Quick Clean Brushless is unmatched in it's sleek low profile design that is easy and very fast to use. Excellent for quick cleaning applications and very good for everyday cleaning and fast removal of bulky soils and debris from smooth and semi-smooth surfaces including tile, laminates, wood, stone, finished concrete and vinyl. While able to easily ingest even large mounds of hair and piles of sand the low profile airflow design requires more maneuvering to bring large objects into the intake orifice, such as large chunks of mud.

The RD285 is an excellent addition to a powered carpet cleaning nozzle in homes with hard floors mixed with wall-to-wall carpets. For homes with primarily hard floors the RD285 can provide a quick-clean nozzle for all surface cleaning with the added function of rug vacuuming for quick clean ups. For those with indoor pets the brushless RD285 is particularly well designed to deal with copious amounts of fur our friends can leave behind. At just over eleven inches wide the RD285 is comfortable to use in home with large open floor plans, though the highly maneuverable nozzle connector combined with brushless intake and fast wheels help the RD285 to excel in smaller and tight spaces that seem to attract so many dust bunnies.
